Sweet Dreams

I've been feeling a little stressed lately. So much to do, so little time. Time to step back and give thanks.
I am thankful for the messy living room, covered with so many toys , it looks like I'm hopscotching just to get thru to the other side. This means not only am I blessed with children but they are healthy and happy.
I am thankful for the dirty dishes in the sink. This means I have food to feed my family.
I am thankful for my long days and short nights. This means I have been blessed with a talent that others like, and a way to make a living that I enjoy.
I'm thankful for all the artists out there that may not know it but they inspire me and motivate me to be more in so many ways.
I am thankful for my sister. She's moving to a place far far away soon. I see her almost daily now and I am thankful for this time together.
I'm especially thankful for my husband. He is truly my friend.
I'm thankful my blessings are too numerous to list.

Sweet Girl

Shelby was a stray my hubbie brought home 5 years ago. She had been hanging around my husbands shop for a while. She was covered in ticks and very thin. The guys fed her and everyday I got a little snippet about her. Finally he brought her home and she hasn't left since. She is the most loving dog. She loves ALL babies and has brought baby bunnies and squirrels in the house. She never harms them, she just mothers them til we send them to animal rehabbers. We always try to find the mothers but they never come back for them. She is grateful to be here and we are grateful to have her!

This is my Oscar

This is my sweet boy. He was a birthday gift from my hubbie almost 12 years ago. He has ears that smell like chocolate chip cookies, his tummy is the palest shade of pink, he pretends to sneeze when he wants to play and barks whenever someone walks remotely near our house. DO NOT say the word PIZZA around him unless you have some to give him, it is his favorite! He is the best gift I could ever receive, he brings joy to my days and he is my little trophy boy.

Toile Armoire

I painted this for a client. She wanted an heirloom piece for her oldest daughter.

I included the house where she was born, siblings/pets, shopping with grandmother, and soccer.


I think it's a piece she can grow with. Toile is a great NEUTRAL. You can always have toile!
I think most of the time I steer towards items that are very personal to the client. I like to include their likes,hobbies, favorite flowers, family.

Middle Of The Night

I awoke at around 2 am this morning. No baby crying just a quiet house. It is actually the most energized I will be all day. My thoughts are clearer and I just seem to get so much done! 

Design ideas are bouncing thru my head. "Start on me!" they say. "No, Me!" says another.

This tends to be my problem, prioritizing. Sometimes what I NEED to do loses the battle to what I WANT to do. 

My goals for today include

blogging for the first time  a

finish wholesale keychain orders

clean my kitchen

clean the fish tank

have new items photographed (finish them first)

spend some quality time with each kid

cook real breakfast and real dinner for all

clean Rachel's room WITH her (this alone will take all day)

organize paperwork

and of coarse ... call my mother
